Dr. Christopher Pirie will give a presentation about common ophthalmic conditions affecting cats. It will cover the clinical presentation, diagnostic work up, and current therapeutic interventions of these conditions affecting cats.

Dr. Pirie is currently the Associate professor and the service head of the Ophthalmology service at MSU. Originally born in Toronto ON, he graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (University of Guelph). Upon graduation, he completed a one-year rotating small animal internship at the OVC, and completed an ocular pathology fellowship at the Comparative Ocular Pathology Laboratory of Wisconsin (University of Wisconsin). After working in small animal general practice for one year, he began a residency in comparative Ophthalmology at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Tufts University. Upon completion of the residency, he stayed on as a faculty member at Tufts University for 7 years, prior to moving to Michigan State University in 2017.
