Title: Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex: 2026 Update

Description:
The WMVMA is excited to partner with Zoetis to host Dr. Stephen Carey for an in-depth update on Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC).

This program will review the basic components of the canine respiratory defense system and discuss how both classical and emerging pathogens evade these defenses to cause disease. Practical strategies for diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention will be covered, including considerations for co-infections and evolving prevention approaches.

To improve convenience and access, this same program will be offered on two different evenings at two locations. Attendees are welcome to choose the date and location that works best for them.

Speaker:
Stephen Carey, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (SAIM)
Dr. Carey is an associate professor of small animal internal medicine at Michigan State University. His clinical and research interests focus on upper and lower airway disease, infectious respiratory disease, and environmental impacts on companion animal respiratory health.
