After years of fostering, the adoption of a traumatized Kelpie set Kristie on an obsessive path toward better understanding canine behavior. She began traveling and studying, both wolves and domestic canines eventually discovering the missing piece with an internationally recognized author/trainer. It had become time for a career change. In 2009 Kristie became the first trainer in Grand Rapids to be certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She is also a Certified Training Partner with the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy and a mentor for the Victoria Stillwell Academy. Dedicated to pursuing the knowledge and skills needed to help dogs and owners live happy lives together, Kristie continues to expand and update her education continually.
Enrichment: what it really is and why it is important to behavior cases
We’ll explore what enrichment should consist of, how and why it helps with a variety of behavioral issues as well as why it is good preventative behavioral “medicine”.
